Pet Addendum - Allowing Pets
A Rider is a supplemental agreement to the original lease. Your lease may have a provision that does not allow pets, but you may have a tenant that you are allowing to keep pets.
This Agreement protects the landlord by requiring the Tenant to follow specific rules when it comes to keeping a pet. It also requires the tenant to maintain an insurance policy that covers damage caused by the pet.
As a landlord, you should always remember to check with your own insurance policy to make sure that they do not have breed or weight exclusions before you allow a tenant to keep a pet at the property.
